What You Will Do
As an Associate with AMITA Health, you will have the opportunity to
Ministers to the spiritual, emotional, psychosocial and cultural needs of patients, family members, and hospital staff.
You will:
- Performs pastoral visitation, public worship services, and outreach services in assigned areas or to specific faith groups.
- Assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.
- Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care and patient health.
- Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.
What You Will Need
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Certification specializing in Counseling. Group and Crisis Intervention and Support Management (CISM) training and/or in process.
- Certified Chaplain or in process of receiving certification. Ordination and/or licensure by the Seventh-day Adventist Church or by a recognized ecclesiastical body.
- Master's Level Degree
- Master's in Divinity or it's equivalent required Two units of clinical pastoral education required
