Job Description

Job Summary:

Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Operates and maintains hyperbaric chamber and associated systems and equipment as prescribed by a hyperbaric physician and under supervision of program director or clinical coordinator.
  • Monitors patients in the chamber and records patient condition. Ensures patient comfort and reports any unusual occurrences.
  • Maintains operating, maintenance and safety logs on hyperbaric equipment.
  • Maintains patient treatment records and collects data as required.

Qualifications


Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
  • Required Credential(s):
    • One or more of the following:
      • Basic Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Illinois Board Of Division of Emergency Medical Services and Highway Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Certified Hyperbaric Technician Certification recognized from the National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Illinois Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
      • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:
  • HS or Equivalent
    • High school diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience:
  • Two years of experience in healthcare required.Wound, hyperbaric or critical care experience preferred.
  • HBO & Wound technician or Respiratory Tech with HBO Training
  • Monday-Friday Clinic Hours Currently 8:00-4:30 0.9 position
