Job Description
Job Summary:
Coordinates stroke program activities and resources.
This position consists of .4 FTE as Stroke Program Coordinator and will also serve as an ICU/ER Educator / Quality.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities and provides input for performance evaluations.
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care. Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of QA/QI initiatives.
- Serves as resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
- Monitors departmental compliance with regulatory and Joint Commission requirements.
Qualifications
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Certified Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Neuroscience.
- Certified Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
- Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Education:
- Bachelor's Level Degree
- Bachelor's of science in nursing required Master's degree preferred
Work Experience:
- Previous nursing experience required.
