Job Description
Job Summary:
Ministers to the spiritual, emotional, psychosocial and cultural needs of patients, family members, and hospital staff.
Responsibilities:
- Performs pastoral visitation, public worship services, and outreach services in assigned areas or to specific faith groups.
- Assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.
- Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care and patient health.
- Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.
Qualifications
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Certification specializing in Counseling.
- Group and Crisis Intervention and Support Management (CISM) training and/or in process.
- Certified Chaplain or in process of receiving certification.
- Ordination and/or licensure by the Seventh-day Adventist Church or by a recognized ecclesiastical body.
Education:
- Master's Level Degree
- Master's in Divinity or it's equivalent required
- Two units of clinical pastoral education required
Work Experience:
- 1+ year of Chaplain experience preferred
Schedule:
- Minimum 1 nighttime on call a week which includes 4 hospitals
- 5-10 hours PRN during the day time hours, M-F
