Job Description

Job Summary:

Ministers to the spiritual, emotional, psychosocial and cultural needs of patients, family members, and hospital staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs pastoral visitation, public worship services, and outreach services in assigned areas or to specific faith groups.
  • Assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.
  • Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care and patient health.
  • Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.

Qualifications


Education:
  • Bachelor's Level Degree
    • Bachelor's degree in theology or religious studies or the equivalent required
    • Master's degree preferred

Work Experience:
  • Experience in pastoral care, health care field, area that is parish-based or mission-related, involved in community activism or its equivalent required.
