Larsen Marine Service, Inc. is one of the largest and best equipped marine dealership and service facilities on the Great Lakes.  Located on Waukegan harbor midway between Milwaukee and Chicago, we store and service over 900 pleasure boats.  From our humble beginnings in 1933, dedicated employees and a commitment to quality support for Lake Michigan boaters have helped us grow into a modern 20 acre boat yard and marina. Our present staff of approximately 45 employees has an average of 15 years’ experience with our company.

Want to use your management skills to work in a fun environment on the shores of Lake Michigan?  We are hiring a Director of Sales and Marketing with management experience.  This is a full-time, hands-on position over-seeing high-end new boat, used boat, and brokerage boat sales for both performance and cruising vessels, as well as the marketing and sales of boat storage, service, parts and accessories, and store sales.  This is an excellent opportunity to work for a growing and well-respected firm located on Lake Michigan managing both sailboats and powerboats. 

Candidates must have the ability to lead a team to innovate and implement effective sales and marketing programs.  Must be able to establish an annual sales & marketing budget, evaluate trade-in boats and establish wholesale prices.  Also must be able to organize, plan and implement show room and retail displays, as well as sales strategies.  Candidates require a minimum of 5 years previous experience in sales and marketing management.  A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals is desired.  You’ll have the opportunity to receive product training from the boat manufacturers.

As much as technical skills are important, our most successful working relationships are with people who are professional, focused, and share our passion for serving the boating community.  Candidates must have computer and modern communication skills including but not limited to incorporating website and social media, have enthusiasm for boating, and be performance driven and results oriented.   Physical requirements must exhibit the ability to climb ladders and to pull, push and lift 50 lbs. Candidates must pass a background check and drug test.
