SENIOR BUYER
 
Responsibilities:
Due to a promotion, we have an opportunity for a Buyer in our Supply Chain organization that will focus on purchasing, planning and acquisition activities for assigned commodities. The Buyer must be aware of market conditions and trends, and formulate short and long term strategies to ensure that parts meet quality and supply requirements, as well as cost containment and cost reduction goals.
 
Key areas include:
 
Purchasing
•Cost containment and cost reduction activities.
•Analyze and resolve unfavorable purchase price variances.
•Participate in cost reduction activities.
•Utilize appropriate processes for improved efficiency and/or cost reductions.
 
Supplier Management
•Monitor supplier performance levels (quality, on-time delivery, etc)against specified targets and take corrective action when needed.
•Risk Management - document and evaluate available supplier disaster recovery plans.
•Sourcing.
•Evaluate the need to develop alternate suppliers and materials and execute.
•Ensure current competitive market pricing.
•Identify and manage single/sole sourced parts.
•Conduct negotiations (price, delivery, terms, etc.)
•RoHS management.
 
Material Planning
•Maintain database (lead-times, EOQ's, Vendors Master, RoHS, commodities, cost, quotes, etc.)
•Execute action messages in MRP report if required.
•Create, obtain approval, and release purchase requisitions and orders on a timely manner.
 

Position Requirements:
•Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, supply chain or related or equivalent experience
•ISM's C.P.M. and/or APICS' CPIM certification preferred
•6+ years experience in a relevant purchasing/materials management position
•Proficient in Microsoft PC based software and MRP/ERP systems
•International procurement experience is desirable
•Good organizational and interpersonal skills with strong written and communication skills
•Proficiency using the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
