Mechanical Design Engineer II 

Responsibilities:
Our Mechanical Design Group for the Desktop Currency Products Line is focused on new ideas and concepts in our various product areas and works with our sales organization, marketing and customers to develop new and improved products. The Design Engineer will with general direction, work on projects from inception to completion.

Duties will include:
•Generating 3D CAD designs of parts and assemblies involving plastics and sheet metal
•Designing with concerns for manufacturability; processes include sheet metal fabrication, machining, rapid prototyping, molding and stamping
•Completing thorough documentation of design work
•Partnering with component suppliers to improve results
•Developing and managing own work breakdown, tracking and progress reporting
•Providing technical product support to manufacturing, marketing and sales

Qualifications:
•BSME or equivalent related experience.
•3-5 years or more experience in product design, preferably in new product development.
•2 or more years in product design of products produced in larger production quantities.
•Experience in injection molded and tooled sheet metal part design.
•Experience in the design of complete machines or electro mechanical devices - or significant aspects of it.
•Experience in "debugging" of new product designs with initial design as well as in prototype or production stage.
•Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and achievable tolerances as well as relative cost.
•Pro E or equivalent 3D CAD experience required.
•Designing for manufacturability.
•Working knowledge of project management and reporting tools.
•Positive attitude, initiative, and motivation.
•Mechanical, ProSheet metal, ProSurface or Intralink/PDM experience a plus.
•Ability to work independently and with teams.
