SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, this position, in coordination with the Regional Clinical Director, oversees the provision of clinical pharmacy services within the department. The clinical coordinator will assist system clinical leadership in the implementation of new clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines as well as provide education to staff to ensure competency. The clinical coordinator will effectively respond to drug information inquiries, participate in quality improvement activities/committees, and provide data analyses to various stakeholders as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises, sustains, and develops programs for improving clinical pharmacy services provided by clinical pharmacists.
  • Assesses and certifies clinical staff pharmacist competencies related to the pharmaceutical care of patients.
  • Precepts PharmD-candidate students clinical clerkship rotations in order to support the provision of high quality pharmacy services as well as serves as a preceptor for residents (if applicable)
  • Coordinates and conducts periodic inservice education programs to medical and nursing personnel.
  • Maintains records of educational programs and staff participation.

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal communication skills

      Education:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy (PharmD preferred)
    • Completion of a PGY-1 residency (preferred)


    Experience
    • 3-5 years experience in the hospital setting required
    • Previous Clinical Coordinator/manager experience preferred

      Computer Skills

      Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook) required

      Knowledge of CPOE platforms (EPIC and/or Meditech) preferred

      Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

      Registered Pharmacist in the State of Illinois required
