General Summary:

The Program Coordinator provides on-site management/oversight of the IMPACT Program – ensuring that all contractual requirements are met, that staff receives consistent coaching and feedback and that best practice approaches and techniques are consistently utilized to promote positive outcomes for program participants. The Program Coordinator will promote a welcoming, engaging and non-threatening environment to encourage both youth and family participation. Regular contact will be maintained with Juvenile Court Services, schools and other community contacts to advocate for the youth and aid in case planning. Reporting requirements will be adhered to with participant billing completed on a monthly basis. The Program Coordinator will assist in the recruitment, interviewing, selection and training of all program staff as well as monitor contractual therapists.

This position is located in Davenport, Iowa with hours of Program Operations: Monday - Friday; 12 N00N - 8PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations and provide supervision for all program youth, staff and volunteers. In partnership with Quad Cities (QC) Director, recruit, interview, hire, evaluate and train new staff.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with youth and families participating in program.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain strong working relationships with Scott County Juvenile Court Services, local school districts, and community agencies. Maintain regular contact with personnel from St. Mark Lutheran Church and ensure program and its participants are respectful of facility, clergy and building staff. Provide positive role modeling for staff/youth/families and act in a professional capacity at all times.
  • Track and monitor all program outcomes as established by the funder as well as create and maintain confidential client files. Ensure all files are up to date and in compliance for annual audit.
  • Ensure participants have access to daily, nutritious meals. Plan weekly meals in consultation with participants and staff.
  • Monitor program budget and stay within the parameters for all line items. Prepare all reports requested by funder and complete internal monthly statistical report. Track daily attendance and prepare monthly billing report for Juvenile Court Services.
  • Represent Safer with community groups as appropriate and attend community events as designated.  
  • Work as part of the QC Leadership Team completing assigned tasks and duties to ensure the QC office is operating efficiently and effectively.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication (oral, written and interpersonal) and critical thinking skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite including the ability to prepare client notes and maintain them in an electronic database.
  • Ability to monitor program budget and prepare monthly billing and statistical reports, as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or Social Sciences
  • Two years’ successful experience working and managing/supervising staff in the human services field
