IT Support Manager

A highly successful, multi-faceted organization in McHenry is looking for a IT Support Manager that will be responsible for providing IT support daily.

The IT Support Manager would support all company computers and laptops, multi-function printers, mobile devices, and all other software and hardware.

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Support: Manage and actively participate in the day-to-day support / helpdesk activities within the company. Ensure appropriate prioritization of active support requests, scheduled activities, and project initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot: Identify network performance issues and create / maintain a disaster recovery plan. Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
  • Third-party resources: Coordinate with outside IT company regarding escalating activity as appropriate. Monitor their compliance with the service level agreements documented in contracts.
  • Equipment Inventory: Maintain an inventory of assigned IT equipment, including serial numbers, date purchased, warranties, staff user, etc. Ensure that the company's technology assets are deployed and used in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Training: Develops and conducts various training and instruction for new and existing associates on company technology with the goal of maximizing user efficiency and effectiveness while reducing administrative effort.
  • Discretion: Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed by the end-users on the network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field or six years of related work experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows servers (AD), telecommunications, network and PC operating systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of current software and network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, etc.) protocols and standards.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, and deliver results on schedule.
  • Work with immense integrity, discretion and trustworthiness Interface and communicate with a broad audience including company staff and leadership, vendors, contractors, etc.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment and the ability to coordinate multiple, concurrent tasks in an effective manner.

Hours (Full-time): Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, on-call availability via remote access.

Salary: Salary depends on qualifications and previous compensation history will be considered.

Required Education: Bachelor's.

Required Experience: IT Support: 3 years. Previous experience with Maxwell, ACT, QuickBooks, The Edge Estimator and Plotters would be a plus.
