Job Description

As a Customer Service Representative you are a main point of contact for customers. In this part-time role, you will be receiving and answering customer telephone inquiries, processing computer orders regarding customer service requests, credit and collection activities, deferred payment arrangements, and new business service inquiries. The position requires strong computer skills and communication skills. Previous customer service in a high volume customer-oriented industry strongly preferred.

This is a temporary role beginning in the spring and ending in the fall that could be extended to full-time in November depending on employer needs and individual performance. The temporary period includes a strict attendance and tardiness policy. After hire, a paid three-week on-boarding training ensues. This position also requires participation in the local union, but does not include benefits or paid time off during the temporary employment period.

Candidates will not be considered if they cannot adhere to working the required schedule as described above.

Qualifications
  • Ability to work rotating shifts (including third shift) is required. This position will also have rotating days off, with schedules changing based on employer need.
  • Successfully pass the Customer Service Pre-Employment Exam, which includes Call Center Scenarios, Call Center Simulation, Behaviors Associated with a Call Center Environment, and a typing proficiency test at 35WPM.
  • Strong customer service and communications skills, handling an average of 50 - 70 inbound call per day.
  • Ability to multitask.

Schedule

The Customer Care Center is located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL and is based on a 24/7 operation. This position will require rotating shifts (including third shift) and rotating days off, with schedules changing based on business need.

Compensation

$30.65/hr

Requirements

Two years of customer service experience (preferably in a call center environment)

Sales experience a plus

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Successful completion of our customer service pre-employment exam, which includes several call center scenarios, call center expanded simulation, behaviors associated within a call center environment.
