SUMMARY

The Art Gallery Director plans and directs Gallery openings. Coordinates and monitors fundraising programs applicable to the financial needs of the Gallery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Learns the basic purposes for the Gretchen Charlton Art Gallery and consistently work with the Gallery Committee to accomplish those purposes. Appreciates the purposes of the Gallery and express them to others.

Monitors Gallery budget and fundraising goals.

Respects the need for the highest quality display and the need to maintain that quality throughout each show.

Develops a good working relationship with the art professionals when preparing for shows. Supervises the hanging of a show and consistently monitor the visual appearance of a show.

Develops a direct mail system designed to solicit gifts and inform donors of specific needs. Handles the mailing and tracking of all fundraising efforts in relation the Gallery.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree and/or relevant Gallery and fundraising experience required.
