Water Division Supervisor - Job Position

The City of Genoa, IL (Pop. 5,200) is seeking applicants for the position of Supervisor in the Water Supply, Distribution & Metering Division of the Public Works Department.

The preferred candidate will work closely with the Director of Public Works to establish operational standards, maintenance objectives and goals for the Water Supply, Distribution & Metering Division. Further responsibilities include planning employee tasks, directing and supervising employees to complete objectives, and achieve standards for the operation and maintenance of the City's water system's facilities and infrastructure. Candidates will possess the knowledge, skill, and experience in water treatment, well pumping operations and maintenance; and have the effective supervisory skills needed to accomplish all aspects of system operations and maintenance activities by working with various assigned employees. Good leadership skills, communication and the ability to work well with others in all City Departments is a requirement. Candidates must be familiar with general construction and maintenance techniques, be able to operate heavy equipment, be able to carry out the specified duties in a safe workmanlike and professional manner, and must have a flexible schedule for on-call assignments. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to respond to emergency situations when notified. The City is seeking a candidate that possess an Illinois Class B Water Operator Certification with ten (10) years of maintenance and ten (10) years of supervisor experience in municipal water supply, distribution and metering sector. An unrestricted valid Illinois Driver's License with CDL air brake endorsement is required. Ability to use a PC for general office purposes, to help schedule and manage work routines and create reports. The successful candidate will be chosen based on previous experience, personal interview, and applicable pre-examinations.

etermined by the individual's qualifications, the starting range for this position is $47,000.00 to $58,500.00 with an excellent benefits package.
