Sign Maker – Installation / Production / Assembly / Print

Job Description

An established Wheaton-area sign company is looking for an experienced full time sign maker. You will create and install a wide range of signage, both simple and complex, for clients ranging from retail, manufacturing and real estate businesses to churches, schools, political campaigns and non-profit organizations. It is important that you have experience with the full range of sign-making processes. This includes assembly and the installation of finished signs as well as design.

Job Responsibilities

As a Sign Maker, you will be responsible for all phases of each sign-making job assigned to you, from initial consultation to final on-site installation.

Your specific duties as a Sign Maker will include:

• Measuring and calculating sign elements such as frames, surfaces, lettering and graphics

• Assembling signs

• Performing on-site installation

• Making repairs and revisions to existing sign elements

• Ensuring that sign installations meet compliance standards for safety and other applicable regulations

Job Requirements

As a Sign Maker, you must be self-motivated and able to translate client requirements into quality and effective signage. You must also be highly detail oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills.

Specific qualifications for the Sign Maker position include:

• Proven experience in the production and installation of a variety of different kinds of signage

• Ability to efficiently create simple to complex signs, including table work, installation and design

• Experience in working with tools and taking accurate measurements

• Working knowledge of sign-making software, printers, laminators and plotters strongly preferred.
