Student Services Manager

The Student Services Manager, manages all aspects of the administrative side of the school concerning the students, employers and employment services of the institution, which includes:  maintaining and monitoring “mandatory required” placement status of graduates, as well as attracting, interviewing  and admitting prospective students, monitoring processes of withdrawn students, assising graduates with employment in the welding field, as well as, marketing and participating in Chamber events, Career and Job Fairs.  The Student Services Manager ensures compliance with all state and/or federal regulatory bodies. 

Education:  

3 to 5 years’ knowledge of welding principles; effective communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to do public speaking; ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the school to include faculty and administration; knowledge of principles in student accounts, receivables, payables and refund policies where applicable to students; good interpersonal and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to generate reports; time management, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills.

Tasks:

  • Contact prospective students about the school
  • Set up appointments to give tours and interviews to prospective students
  • Follow-up with prospective students for enrollment opportunities
  • Contact employers about hiring opportunities for graduates
  • Build working relationships with employers
  • Maintain “mandatory required” placement status of graduates
  • Performs checks and balances of students, who withdraw in regards to their accounts, receivables, payables and refund policies
  • Work on computer using excel spreadsheets for reports
  • Work closely with staff in regards to students’ progress towards employment
  • Attend job and career fairs
  • Market the school at area events
  • Maintain placement documents and forms as appropriate
  • Exhibit professional attire and attitude at all time
  • Coordinate schools’ job fairs
  • ​Ability to work with and understand governmental entities such as ACCSC Accrediting Agency, Title IV, Veterans Administration Affairs, Local Workforce Boards, Safer Foundation, etc. 
  • Attend and participate with chamber events, local high school events and other events as appropriate
