Technical Sales Consultant
JOB TITLE: Technical Sales Consultant
Overview: An exciting opportunity to help grow a new equipment product line in a niche manufacturing market. This is a technical sales position that requires a knowledge of a consultive sales process coupled with engineering knowledge of our product line.
LOCATION: Elk Grove Village, IL (15 mins from Ohare).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a new prospect from initial contact to final sale. (Lead generation not necessary as we have excellent prequalified leads for you).
- You will be selling both the new equipment line and our solvent line in combination.
- Understand and assess the prospect needs, timeframe, budget to further qualify prospect
- Communicate our equipment benefits and features along with our company benefits and features.
- Conduct test part cleaning to validate equipment and solvent compatibility with prospects requirements.
- Work closely with manufacturing team to provide timely updates as to status of prospect pipeline, forecasting, and any additional support as needed.
- Conduct sales presentations to prospects at our manufacturing facility.
- Manage sales leads via ACT (our sales data base).
- Provide equipment training and support at customer location as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Must have an excellent presentation style and effortless capability communicating concepts in person and over the phone. Excellent phone presence is a must.
- Understanding of solvent cleaning chemistries and/or cleaning processes – such as vapor degreasing a huge plus.
- Very comfortable at using all office applications and communicating via email etc.
- 10 years’ technical sales experience using clear and disciplined sales management process.
- Engineering background with ability to discuss technical, mechanical, electrical and industrial applications a plus. Understanding of chemistry and solvents is very important.
- Bachelors/Masters degree in chemistry, manufacturing, industrial engineering areas valuable.
