DESCRIPTION
Description: The DeKalb Park District is seeking a creative, detailed-oriented and enthusiastic professional with the excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and implement high quality athletic and aquatic programs. Responsibilities include the overall management of the District’s Hopkins Park swimming pool facility and assisting in the management of the Sports and Recreation Center. Duties include overseeing daily activities of the Hopkins Pool and Sports and Recreation Center, as well as athletic field operations; planning, implementation, and evaluation of aquatics programs, youth and adult athletics, and overall risk management procedures. The Athletic/Aquatics Coordinator is charged with the responsibility of recruitment, training, and supervision of District programming and facility staff.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Park Administration or related field from an accredited college or university desired, with a minimum of 2 years recreation experience in administration, with the emphasis on supervision, aquatic programming, athletic programming, and facility management. Current Lifeguard Instructor Certification, Water Safety Instructor Certification and CPO Certification desired.

The Athletic/Aquatics Coordinator must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to maintain exceptional working relationships with peers, community groups, volunteers, independent contractors, coworkers, staff, and the public.
