The City of Markham Civil Service Commission invites submission of applications for employment.

Written examinations for Emergency Dispatcher will be 9:00am.

Written exam for  Entry Level Clerk will be 11:30am and B Man Operator at 1:00pm.

All tests will be given on Monday,  September 12, 2016 at Markham City Hall in the Old Council Chambers (near the police department) located at 16313 Kedzie Pkwy, Markham, IL 60428.   

 

General Requirements: Proof of identification and a high school diploma. All applicants must pass the written examination and submit to an oral interview.

Emergency Dispatcher Requirements: Familiarity with police and fire clerical systems; good command of the English language, both written and spoken; knowledge of the operation of office equipment and computers; and experience in the operations of an emergency dispatcher telecommunication center.

Entry Level Clerk Requirements: Knowledge of the operation of office equipment and computers; command of the English language both written and spoken.

B Man Operator Requirements: Valid CDL Truck Drivers License preferred; willingness to respond to emergency situations 24 hours a day; familiarity with water, sewer and street maintenance and ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment preferred.

Applications may be secured from the City Clerk’s office Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. All application must be submitted before 5pm, September 2, 2016.
