Police Officer $66,635.00 Deadline for examination: July 9, 2016 The City of Elgin, Illinois seeks highly qualified police officer candidates. Founded in 1836 and located 35 miles northwest of Chicago, Elgin is proud of its diversity in demographics and culture. The Elgin Police Department currently has 180 uniformed police officers. Police Officer candidates must be between 21 and 35 years old as of July 18, 2016, be a citizen of the United States or an alien admitted for permanent residence. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and have a bachelor's degree or 60 credit hours of college with prior military or law enforcement experience.
