Corporate Communications Director
*this position will be filled in any Anthem office location

Responsible for identifying key opportunities to promote the Company through its executive leadership, senior management and corporate communications personnel.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Anticipates, prepares for and manages key communications issues with that have potential enterprise impact
  • Partners with SBU/CEE leadership team to develop, implement, and monitor strategic proactive public relations programs and corporate media activities.
  • Serves as a company spokesperson, as needed
  • Researches, develops, reviews and/or edits a variety of communications materials such as press releases, columns/articles/op-eds for placement digital content, etc.
  • Leads complex departmental assignments and workload.
  • Provides guidance or direction to team members on key department initiatives, and enterprise initiatives.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Requires a BA/BS in communications, journalism or public relations; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Must have strong media relations and writing skills.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the health care business and health insurance
  • At least 8 - 10 years of experience in a large organization leading strategic and public relations programs and corporate media initiatives.
  • Experience in at a public relations agency or public affairs firm; managed care or health insurance industry preferred.
