Corporate Communications Specialist II
* this position will be filled in either Indianapolis, IN; Virginia Beach, VA; Chicago, IL or any Anthem office location
Responsible for providing internal and/or external communications support by anticipating, preparing for, and managing moderately complex corporate communications issues for one or more of the following functions: internal communications, issues management, social responsibility, executive communications, multi-media, social media. Specifically, this position will report into the Creative Services area of Executive Communications, focused on generating creative collateral to support the external positioning of the company’s executive leadership, reputation and strategic priorities across multiple stakeholder audiences.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Researches, develops, and edits moderately complex communications materials.
* Supports the development and implementation of a strategic communications plan and related initiatives.
* Coordinates submissions, drafts layouts and coordinates production with the print vendors.
* May lead some departmental assignments and workload and/or provide guidance to lower level associates.
* Writing and editing various materials for a wide range of internal and external executives and audiences.
* May provide design support, depending on abilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
The ideal candidate will have:
* Requires a BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, or a related field; 3 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
* Strong writing, reporting, and interpersonal skills required.
* Graphic design, digital, photography, and/or presentation software preferred.
* Social media knowledge and experience preferred.
