Director of Information Technology

A successful Chicago area manufacturer and distributor conveniently located in the Northwest suburbs is seeking a Director of Information Technology.

This position is responsible for planning, managing and implementing all IT functions. The IT Director needs superior skills in organization, project management, problem solving, oral and written communications and leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Work with corporate and department management in evaluating and acquiring application software and designing and developing in-house created applications.
• Direct the software development staff in creating new applications, implementing and integrating all application software, and resolving all software issues.
• Work with Sales and Product Development staff in supporting software and systems for customers.
• Negotiate IT related contracts and licenses.
• Prepare the annual IT capital spending, staffing and operating expense budgets.
• Maintain and test the disaster recovery plan including systems backup.
• Manage the end user support staff including desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
• Manage the IT infrastructure and system administration staff in a Windows/VMWare multi-location environment.
• Maintain the telecommunications systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.
• 15+ years of experience in information technology, preferably with a manufacturing or distribution company.
• Experience managing a technical staff of 8 or more.
