The Lead Infant Teacher oversees two classrooms ensuring lesson plans and newsletters are handed in a timeley manner. Observe other team members and provide feedback.    

Main Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the team to support the leadership and management of Little GEMS to foster an environment of excellence and high standards in education and care, so that children are encouraged in their personal, social, emotional physical, intellectual and spiritual development.
• Assigned as a key teacher for a group of children overseeing their intellectual, physical, social and emotional development and the acquisition of independent skills, including dressing, feeding toilet training and awareness of personal hygiene, observe, monitor and accurately record each individual development and sharing this information with parents.
• Interact and engage with children in a respectful, affectionate and appropriate manner throughout the day.
• Demonstrate awareness of the entire group at all times.
• Be cognizant and respond to all Little GEMS policies and procedures.
• Ensure efficient day-to-day operations, including classroom organization and the implementation of curriculum and assessments.
• Communicate effectively and share information within other parts of Little GEMS.
• Contribute to regular team meetings in order to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the section.
• Contribute to planning within the section; help to ensure that there is an adequate balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities, and that all areas of the setting are effectively utilized, including the island play spaces and outdoor learning resources.
• Support excellent communication with parents and promote parental involvement, positive relationships, trust and effective information-sharing about each child.
• Organize and attend open houses and parents consultations as required.
• Contribute to making the classroom and Little GEMS attractive and welcoming with high-quality displays.
• Welcome prospective parent and visitors.
• Work with the Head of School, Assistant Head of School and colleagues to promote Little GEMS and achieve target numbers.
• Support the organization and management of the environment, ensuring that resources and materials are clean, correctly stored, labeled and well-maintained.
