To support our growing design division, we are seeking an exempt-level Technical Designer who enjoys contributing to the entire design process – from sketching to the final fit and production. What You’ll Do At Ashro, our Technical Designers work with Quality Assurance and Merchandising to build a variety of products from concept thru production. Your primary duties will consist of refining a process for standardizing fit of the apparel, wigs, accessories, shoes, hats, jewelry, cosmetics and fragrances for our catalogs and communicating daily with suppliers and internal team members to regarding product samples, specs, styling, issues, etc… You’ll also be responsible for: • Ensuring all technical design related requirements are addressed for all products • The Fit Sample Evaluations and Size Grading Process • Requesting and evaluating Top of Production (TOP) samples. • Working with the Quality team, Manager of Technical Design, and Inventory group to understand and proactively address quality, trend changes, returns issues and investigating fit-related discrepant material report (DMR) issues What It Takes We need a high-energy, detail-oriented, multi-tasker with a high level of communication skills that will enable them to effectively work with all team members and outside vendors. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design or closely related degree with 5 years of experience in Technical Apparel Design. In addition, we are looking for: • 1-2 years of pattern development experience • A proficient knowledge of PC-MS Office applications • Experienced individuals with the ability to work independently &/or with limited supervision What You’ll Get You’ll have the ability to directly impact the selection and fit of the products we sell and support the design process from start-to-finish.
