Security Officer- Public Safety

Security Officer - Public Safety (Full-Time Days)
Under the supervision of the shift supervisor, the Public Safety Officer will need to recognize and respond to the needs and behaviors of patients in a variety of age groups, such as neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric as well as providing security services for visitors and staff.
Patrols the entire campus providing a high level of visibility in order to deter wrong doings, locks and opens doors and completes other routine assignments as designated on the shift responsibility log.
Defuses conflict situations through application of proper communication and security enforcement techniques, if absolutely necessary.
Assists in moving and restraining disoriented patients when necessary.
Maintains logs and provides other necessary documentation.
Job Requirements
Ability to drive safely relating to Illinois Traffic Rules and Regulations.
Must have a current P.E.R.C. card
Experience in Security highly desirable. Previous Security/Public Safety experience in a Health Care preferred.
Excellent Customer Service skills
High school graduate or equivalent with driving experience that includes public contact.
Must maintain a valid Illinois driver's license and have a clean driving record for the last 3 years
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Must be able to generate accurate and precise written reports.
