Human Resources Specialist

Human Resources (HRIS) Specialist

Provides administrative support and technical assistance in the delivery of human resources services to employees, managers, and external business related customers. Performs data entry and managment of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Support several functional services including recruitment, benefits and compensation, labor and employee relations, and special projects. Other duties include:


  • Serves as a primary contact for HR-related inquires regarding a variety of types of employee information, demographics and records from managers and staff. Researching and responding to issues. Escalating more complex inquires to the appropriate resource.

  • Overseeing "on boarding" process to ensure compliance. Creating and documenting process to ensure that all data is accurate and complete.

  • Assists in processing new hire documentation and employment verification.

  • Provides backup support to Administrative Assistant.

  • Preparing reports and obtaining data to respond to reporting requirements and compliance standards.

  • Designing and processing implementation of features in outsourced payroll modules to improve data administration.

  • Supporting others interdepartmental and external regarding training on data base.

  • Supporting and maintaining knowledge base of benefit plan administration in order to back up benefits function in absence of coordinator.

  • Identifying process improvement opportunities in all aspects of Human Resources

Job Requirements
The qualified candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 2 years Human Resources support experience
  • Must have data base management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related area preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Technical saavy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • ADP software expertise very desirable
