Assistant Manager, Social Content

As Assistant Manager, Social Content through support of brand-building and revenue-generating marketing programs, including managing the production of engaging content for social media distribution and targeting a variety of consumer segments in coordination with e-commerce call to action. In this role you will serve as a key member of the Marketing & Communications team, managing the creation of branded content delivered in a variety of forms to best engage diverse, target audiences. Utilizing your prior social media or other relevant experience, you will monitor timely execution of communications plan/calendar through development of content with clear messaging and storylines that engage and extend the "conversation" with members, guests and intenders. This includes identifying and collaborating with internal experts and external advocates to develop content that tells the CZS story within the context of the CZS mission while seamlessly intermix key announcements within the larger scope of the dialogue that will support business sustainability. Making use of your strong interpersonal skills, you will secure feedback from all target audiences to inspire guest-driven content supporting our brands. Furthermore, you will recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and mentor temporary Marketing Assistants to support social media and outreach efforts.

Position Requirements and Specifications
The requirements for this position include the following:



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience required.


  • Minimum of five years of relevant marketing communications experience, specializing in social media or other directly relevant experience required.


  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment required.


  • Experience adhering to critical timelines/key date schedules, and budgets required.


  • Proven ability to be proactive with respect to institutional evaluation needs and activities.


  • Ability to deal with emergent issues, multiple projects, and clients simultaneously required.


  • Strong communications skills (verbal, written and listening skills) required.


  • Strong computer skills required. Experience with a variety of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.


  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively and maintain positive relationships.


  • Solid analytical and proven decision-making skills required.


  • Must be self-motivated, flexible, and confident and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


  • Experience and/or ability to work and interact effectively with a diverse, multicultural audience.


  • Valid driver's license required. Illinois residents must possess a valid Illinois license within 90 days of hire. Valid out-of-state license required for out-of-state residents.


  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays; normal workweeks of 45+ hours are not unusual.

The preferred qualifications include:



  • Experience in online content development preferred.


  • Experience in media or communications planning a plus.


  • Raiser's Edge experience is strongly preferred.


  • Multilingual ability, Spanish fluency a plus.
