Account Manager

Position Description

As an Account Manager, you will work in a team to manage and penetrate existing accounts.  You will be responsible for managing all operational execution including, but not limited to: customer service, shipment management, and problem resolution.  The majority of your time will be spent executing upon awarded business as well as identifying new opportunities for growth.  You will devise tailored solutions to increase efficiency, add value, and maximize profitability throughout the supply chain.  You will ensure that standard operating procedures, key performance indicators, and other account metrics exist and are being implemented and monitored daily.

Responsibilities 

  • Assists in development and delivery of business reviews
  • Manages customer expectations through the use of key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • Primarily focuses on contractual and transactional business while offering modal options
  • Can independently quote customers based on a clear understanding of supply and demand shifts in the market as well as seasonality
  • Identifies areas to appropriately leverage other resources, including internal CHR and external resources to meet customer expectations
  • Drives daily pricing decisions and collaborates on procurement exercises while also involved in daily business execution
  • Responsible for identifying new business and efficiencies while maximizing profitability of C.H. Robinson's existing customers alongside a customer team

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and relevant sales/account management experience (2+ years)
  • Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time effectively
