Training & Development Specialist

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the training and development of employees at all levels of the organization including assisting in the oversight of First American Bank (FAB's) Leadership Training Programs. FAB training programs emphasize consistency, accuracy and excellent service to all FAB customers. Upon completion of training, trainees' should have the ability to provide consistent customer service that supports FAB policies and procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the Training and Development Supervisor to deliver and create effective training programs and materials to efficiently and comprehensively train both new and existing First American Bank employees.
Facilitate the "movement" of trainee's through required training and any necessary rotations.
Educate trainees' on bank policies, procedures and personal skills using both instructional classroom training, hands-on instruction and distance learning via video conferencing and webinars.
Monitor employee progress through each training program by administering written and practical exams and providing performance reports to managers regarding trainees' performance.
Provide support to trainees' after training programs have been conducted to ensure comprehension and to provide follow-up training as necessary.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs to ensure desired results are achieved and are in line with FAB goals and priorities.
Assist in the development, revision and implementation of training materials as needed.
Respond professionally to routine inquiries from employees, managers, and executives within First American Bank.
Maintain the highest professional level of confidentiality in handling employee information.
Leverage learning management systems to track, deploy and produce reports regarding training events.
Keep current on bank policies, products and procedural changes.
Work with the Training and Development Manager (TDM) and a team of managers/supervisors to monitor Leadership Training Programs (Leadership Trainee and Assistant Branch Manager Trainee) success and program completion.
Conduct one on one meetings and professional development coaching sessions with Leadership Trainees.
Coordinate the day to day activities of Leadership Trainees by tracking their progress in the program and providing feedback to both the trainees and the managers.
Assist in the screening and hiring of Leadership Trainees when applicable.
Assist in the determination of successful completion of Leadership Training programs or removal from training programs when appropriate. Perform disciplinary actions or terminations as needed.
Act as a valued resource for trainees.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum High School degree or equivalent required.
Three to five years of banking experience and/or 5+ years experience in training and development or coaching. Supervisory/management experience desired.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong confidence level speaking to large or small groups is essential to this position; strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated coaching and leadership ability, initiative, sales development skills, organizational awareness and a proactive customer service approach.
Must be professional, comfortable speaking with all levels of management, and prepared to provide candid feedback to managers regarding trainees' progress.
Must have a thorough understanding/exposure to various computer applications, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Lotus Notes and banking software.
Travel between branches, as well as additional work hours or occasional Saturdays as necessary. 60%
Schedule may vary. Typically Monday through Friday 8am-5pm; however, must be available for some weekday early mornings, evenings and Saturdays.
