General Summary:

We are seeking an energetic, highly-motivated person to lead our sales & marketing efforts to secure employment opportunities for people with criminal records as well as develop new employment opportunities in ancillary markets (transportation, warehousing and distribution, manufacturing, food service/hospitality, or construction industries etc.). This position provides management to a team of sales/employment development professionals. One of the primary focuses also includes training, coaching and developing the employment development team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of all aspects of customer relations; receiving job orders; assisting in expanding business liaisons; and, insuring that necessary skill requirements match the clients’ needs. 
  • Development and execution of sales and marketing plans to retain and expand opportunities with existing employers and develop & cultivate relationships with new employers including building partnerships with key associations & maintain them with current employers.
  • Utilization of a consultative sales approach to identify and evaluate employers' staffing needs including recommending and providing staffing solutions.
  • Work in partnership with case managers/retention specialists to plan & implement initiatives that generate job leads and job placements including communication & coordination of all employment efforts. Help develop strategic plan outlining growth opportunities & make recommendations/ presentations to senior management to secure support. 
  • Ensure that job orders are effectively integrated so that job starts & job placements that are achieved meet contractual requirements as well as employment opportunities that include occupational training leading to industry-recognized credentials. Set and achieve weekly goals resulting in generated new job opportunities for Safer's clients.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive sales, staffing and/or market analysis experience; measuring outcomes and strategically aligning sales and marketing efforts to reach goals and objectives.  Strong business sense, facilitation & communication, solution-selling capability, and strong negotiation skills.  Excellent in-depth knowledge of industrial sector employment opportunities relevant to Safer’s clients. Ability to develop marketing/ program materials that are influential and convincing.
     
  • Communication skills are essential as this position works with people at all levels; must be able to make presentations and deliver reports to a variety of external and internal audiences.  Represent Safer Foundation at job fairs, community events, and other public functions as necessitated.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and employee relations experience is needed.  Excellent computer skills and knowledge of database applications.  Ability to work productively under pressure and to meet pre-set deadlines.  Excellent recording-keeping and organizational skills.

 

  • Goal-oriented, self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure with flexibility, professionalism and a positive attitude; sense of humor, a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent/relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ successful experience developing relationships with employers resulting in placing large numbers of clients.
  • Two to three years’ management/supervisory experience of inside/outside sales personnel.
