Wealth Management Relationship Manager

The Wealth Management Relationship Manager is responsible for primary management of customer relationships for a book of business consisting of small investment management accounts, IRAs and custody accounts. This person will be responsible for enhancing that book through effective new business development, establishment of referral sources and proactive business retention activity.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and initiate a comprehensive customer calling program in accordance with established standards of service including, but not limited to meetings, telephone conferences, correspondence, entertainment, etc.

Interact with customers and prospects to ascertain their financial goals and assist them in developing realistic strategies to meet their needs and objectives.

Monitor investments within assigned accounts as appropriate and anticipate possible changes in investment objectives based on customers' needs and circumstances.

Communicate effectively with customers and their advisors both verbally and in writing.

Conduct all customer calling in accordance with established guidelines and procedures for pre-call preparation, call execution and post-call review and documentation.

Handle all routine customer requests including, but not limited to cash disbursements, deposits, tax and transaction information.

Maintain documentation of all client contacts and issues including routine formal correspondence with client confirming discussions and action.

Monitor all account activity by reviewing and responding to daily transactions, cash and overdraft reports, ticklers.

Set up and monitor all critical dates and deadlines with respect to assigned accounts and initiate appropriate action.

Assure relationship profitability by monitoring service levels, fee revenue and the assessment of additional fees for extraordinary services rendered.

Handle the preparation of new and closing account documents, and entering or updating data on software systems for opening and closing accounts.

Handle the preparation of incoming asset transfer instructions and tracking of incoming assets for new accounts or additions.

Perform all duties and functions in accordance with applicable policies and procedures including timely completion of all required administrative reviews and required compliance documentation.

Actively solicit referrals from and additional business from existing customer base and develop referral sources from centers of influence by participating in activities that build professional relationships.

Stay current with changes and trends in investments and the trust and financial services industry by reading professional journals and periodicals.

Maintain and update procedures and checklists as assigned.

Participate as an active member of any committee to which assigned and manage personal calendar so as to be available to attend all required meetings and drafting of minutes as required.

Perform other and additional duties as required and/or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree or professional designation(s) preferred (CFP, CFA).

3+ years in wealth management, financial planning, financial services or related field, preferably within a fiduciary environment required.

Must have strong organizational and time management skills and a commitment to accuracy and follow up. Must have ability to work well independently and as a team player.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Must have strong interpersonal skills.

Must have above average ability to learn, adapt to and work with multiple systems. High level of comfort and skills with software/database applications, including CRM, Word, Excel, wealth management and bank accounting systems.

Occasional travel to various locations throughout the Chicagoland area required.

Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasionally, additional hours may be required as workload dictates.
