Senior Pricing Analyst

Responsibilities



Act as Tier II support to regional Pricing & Contract Management analysts and management worldwide to assist create pricing solutions to complex special pricing and contract term requests for enterprise deals. Work directly with custom pricing, marketing, and legal to research components to consider in deal structure. Act as special pricing point of contact to a specific product suite (including but not limited to Mgd Services, Data Center Services, Application Assurance, etc) and support all inquiries on profitability models and special pricing of that product suite. requiring in depth knowledge of cost and history of changes of the product suite. Create and maintain reference/training documents of assigned specific product suite to better serve the custom pricing organization.

Responsible for ongoing maintenance and creation of specific product profitability models (ie - new costs, updates to SG&A) ensuring accuracy and compliance with the corporate finance Delegation of Authority.

In conjunction with pricing and marketing stakeholders, provide field input on the development of product sales floors and special pricing floors, ensuring compliance to corporate strategy and any government regulations.

Review and approval of legal contractual service attachments for existing and new products ensuring accuracy of changes and recommending contract language improvements.

Initiation and resolution of method and procedure presale process support.

Development and execution of policies for the pricing analysts worldwide based on new pricing, product changes, promotions, finance policies requiring evaluation of options across affected stakeholder organizations. Analysis and in depth evaluation of existing processes with recommendations made to tool development to eliminate need for PCM pricing analytical work and steps. Follow through on implementation with IT and stakeholders across organization necessary.

Responsible to represent the Verizon Pricing Tower on the following:
  1. Creation and submission of business requirements for multiple IT systems in the VRD system architecture to articulate special pricing requirements on workflow, deal analytics, and profitability. Thorough review and approval of other BREQs written by multiple stakeholders to understand effects on pricing catalog and systems. Contribution to design reviews based on the BREQ submission
  2. User acceptance testing for each major and minor release of IT functionality.
  3. Creation and ongoing maintenance of training materials in relation to the new pricing functionality.
  4. Serve as an overall subject matter expert working with cross functional teams (and internal pricing teams as needed) such as Financial Operations on issues that require pricing support/a solution.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or equivalent experience required.
  • 6+ years experience with special pricing arrangements and custom agreements for customers; thorough understanding of company's standard products and customization of those products.
  • Proven experience in writing and reviewing of business requirements for systems in support of pricing, billing or contracting tools.
  • Ability to understand profit & loss modeling, cash flow, and other financial analysis.
  • Proven management skills and proven ability to lead cross functional teams towards an end-goal and problem resolution.
  • Expert knowledge in deal lifecycle process at Verizon and full presale to invoice processes preferred.
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills; comfortable with presenting to executives.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions quickly under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
