Cell Technician

Responsibilities





This position is responsible for the proper Operation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of a wide array of Network Elements related to Cell Site Locations.

Duties in Support of Interdepartmental Objectives include:
  • Installation, Integration, Operation, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Optimization of any and all Cell Site Equipment.
  • Building, Roof Top Sites, Tower inspection, and Ground upkeep.
  • Integration, Testing, Operation, and Troubleshooting of Network Hardware and Interconnect Facilities including EBH, Fiber, Routers, Microwave, etc.
  • Installation, Testing, and Maintenance of Macro-cells, In-Building systems, Repeaters, Outdoor Equipment, Small Cells, and DAS systems.

Other Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining Cell Site and Test Equipment Inventories.
  • Testing and Analyzing Network Coverage to ensure contiguous communication to support Network Integrity and Quality.
  • Updating Daily Logs with site-specific information and all work related activities.
  • Composing clear and concise reports for system documentation and Manager Review.
  • Performing audits as required by Local, Regional, Area, Corporate, and/or Regulatory agencies.
  • Able to work On-Call, Nights, and Weekends as required.

The Cell Technician is expected to be able to perform his duties with little supervision and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled.



Qualifications





Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree preferred. Minimum Technical Degree or Equivalent Work Experience is required.
  • Minimum 2-years of experience plus electronics training in one or more of the following fields: Telecommunications, Cell Infrastructure, In Building, or Microwave radio is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following technologies and/or platforms:
    • Voice and Data Cell Infrastructure experience including: Lucent CDMA and Ericsson LTE, DAS Systems, Small Cells, VoLTE, Microwave, etc.
    • Telecom experience including: EBH, Fiber, Routers 7705/SAR-18, DACS, etc.
    • Generators, Power and Battery Plant DC distribution systems experience including Operation and Maintenance of various Systems.
    • Computer experience including: PC hardware, configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Intermediate training in at least 3 of the following areas: Data Communications, Digital Communications, Operating Systems and Applications, Telecommunications, Computer Support, Project Management, Generator Management and Power Plant Solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is required.
    Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. is required.
    A valid driver's license is required.
