Sr. Manager – Domestic Inventory Management

United Airlines has an opening for a Sr. Manager – Domestic Inventory Management in Chicago, IL.  Oversee team of revenue management and strategic analysts to execute revenue management techniques to achieve optimal revenue performance, translate strategic direction into actionable activities, and monitor analyst actions and outcomes to ensure adherence to strategy. Less than 5% travel to domestic airport stations to meet with airport personnel regarding revenue management strategy, 1-2 days per trip. Must have a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field and two years of experience in airline revenue management, airline pricing, airline strategic analysis and forecasting, or airline network planning OR a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field and five years of experience in airline revenue management, airline pricing, airline strategic analysis and forecasting, or airline network planning. Also must have experience with: working with software for airline revenue management, airline pricing, or airline network planning; econometric analytical tools, including time series analysis, exponential smoothing, normal and binomial probability analysis, and hypothesis testing; data mining using SQL programming and MS Excel Data Analysis toolkit; Airline Inventory Control concepts including Spoilage, Spillage, Elasticity and Airline Forecasting Fluctuations; supply and demand economic theory, including price elasticity of demand and demand segmentation; and creating and presenting presentations, and customizing them for senior leadership and other audiences as appropriate.
