Primary Responsibility:  The Program Administrator will work closely with the Director of Training to Work 1 & 2 to ensure quality program outcomes in the areas of case management, work readiness, job training and job placement and will assist the Director with programmatic and administrative responsibilities that meet or exceed Safer’s standards.

 

The Program Administrator is responsible for:

  • Providing support and direction to the staff in the absence of the Training to Work Program Director.
  • Providing clerical and administrative support for Program Director.
  • Providing logistical support.
  • Ensuring all participants have obtained required training credentials to be eligible for employment after the completion of the training program.
  • Assisting Director in scheduling cultural and educational field trips and volunteer opportunities.
  • Collecting and providing weekly attendance and activity reports to Program Director.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with participants and their families.
  • Observing and evaluating students to determine progress and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Managing the proper implementation of the Axiom tracking system and create all required reports and maintain audit ready records.
  • Providing Training to Work participants with referral services as needed.
  • Handling special projects and routine expectations when required.
  • Reviewing applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility for participation in the T2W Program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent teacher in group sessions, excellent coach, program design and planning skills.
  • Basic knowledge of a wide range of interventions.
  • Knowledge of the specific barriers that people with criminal records face regarding academic development.
  • Knowledge of learning styles and how to help overcome barriers to successful learning
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests, learning and motivation; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics and societal trends and influences
  • Knowledge of computer-based applications such as Microsoft Word, Axiom, Excel
  • Skilled in writing accurate and detailed case notes
  • Skilled in active listening and conveying  information to others effectively
  • Skilled in Critical Thinking, judgment and decision making

Experience:    

  • Demonstrable, replicable success at providing interventions that is effective in customers’ lives. 
  • Demonstrate success at managing is required. 
  • Must be able to describe how he/she facilitated performance improvement of others.

Credentials:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
