Responsibilities

The Connected Solutions Architect provides pre-sales and post sale technical direction, and implementation support to new and existing M2M customers utilizing data, M2M MC and device side embedded software, application software, web services, cloud computing and other services. Assumes leadership role in providing technical direction to customers and internal staff in the development and maintenance of fully-integrated M2M data solutions.

The Connected Solutions Architect also is capable of developing and delivering executive level presentations pertaining to M2M topics including industry and vertical direction as well as overall Verizon M2M strategy.

1. Solution Design: Collaborate with customers by providing customer needs analysis, business model analysis, engineering and design of technical solutions, technical presentations, and technical consultation to internal and external customers. Provide technical support and guidance for the development and implementation of M2M customer solutions and applications including device\module recommendation, innovation center product development, product certification, application hosting and system integration guidance. Also responsible for creation of design and process documentation.
   
2. M2M Training: Responsible for providing messaging and training to internal sales and technical sales teams with regards to key M2M topics (platform, roadmap, partner solutions, best practices, etc.)
   
3. Software: Evaluation and recommendations for new software features for the Verizon M2M MC Platform and device software (Linux, Java, BREW, etc) for product enhancements to drive Verizon M2M capabilities, competitive position and revenue growth
   
4. M2M Implementation and post implementation support: Drives implementation and end to end support to business partners and enterprise customers. Point of escalation for external customers and B2B reps on customer issues.
   
5. Executive Briefing Program Support: Provide support, develop content for and act as presenter for executive level briefings held at various Verizon briefing centers as well as customer locations. Deliver executive level content regarding M2M centric topics.
   
6. Training: Attain and maintain appropriate training level on relevant topics:

• Wireless and terrestrial networking
• Web Services development
• Device Client Framework
• Security (Cybertrust)

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 7+ years architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of IT, IP and software based products and services with verifiable instances of implementing one or more of the following:

• IT Applications Management (SOA, Web Services, RTE)
• Data and IP Services (ATM, Frame Relay, PIP, VPN)
• Managed Network Services (LAN, WAN, Content Delivery, Managed IP PBX)
• Managed Security Solutions
• Data Center Outsourcing (application hosting, managed storage)

• 7+ years in customer facing positions (sales, sales engineering, consulting)Strong knowledge of network, communications and wireless protocols
• Strong working knowledge of switching, routing, server, video, and mobility equipment
• Strong knowledge of software and web services development including C#, Java, SOAP, REST, etc.
• Strong knowledge of M2M device OEMs and their products and capabilities
• Knowledge of storage networking/cloud computing
• Ability to stay ahead of M2M wireless trends and forthcoming technology
• Ability to translate technology trends to sales force and customer base
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work in a team environment and explain complex systems to customers
