Responsibilities
MW Area Performance Team provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise in the Midwest Area and across the regions to identify and resolve system performance and device related network issues, improve performance and identify efficient post processing techniques.
We are looking for a Software Engineer that has RF or System Performance experience with knowledge of the wireless network, including the LTE Device, RAN and Core. Takes ownership of projects, identifies and forges new efficient processes. Establishes good professional working relationships within, and across, various VZW groups at all levels.
Ability to correlate large datasets from LTE KPIs and identify patterns which lead to problem resolution and improve system performance and optimization.
Interacts with cross functional teams such as National Network Operations (NNO) groups, Regional engineers, Planning, Maintenance Engineering, Transport, HQ, RF Design, Area Real Estate, and other organizations to optimize components for best efficiency and reliability.
Provide new and efficient method for processing Root Metrics/Baseline/Nielsen
Conduct ongoing system performance monitoring to ensure that platforms continue to perform as designed
Works with capacity engineering for monitoring and trending of capacity to ensure the network meets performance needs.
Automate a data collection and analysis process to identify end user performance and capacity triggers at Mass Calling and Special Venues Events (NCAA, NFL, MLB, NBA, NFL, Concerts).
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
Must have 2-4 years of experience in the Software Development Industry.
Oracle development. Proficiency developing SQL-Plus and PL/SQL solutions required.
Scripting using Perl or Python.
Experience with business intelligence tools, preferably Pentaho.
Basic understanding of web applications, utilizing technologies like Java EE, JavaScript, PHP or other technologies.
Experience with the UNIX operating system, preferably on Linux platforms.
