Private Banking Associate - Elk Grove Village

Job Description:Responsibilities:

The candidate will assist members of the Private Banking Group at First American Bank in providing exceptional customer service by delivering banking products and services tailored to the individual circumstances of the bank’s high net worth clients. Prepare financial analysis of credit requests for presentation to the bank’s senior management.

Manage the flow of consumer and mortgage loan applications originated as a result of existing banking relationships with our commercial loan department and wealth management group.

Interact with private banking clients providing personalized service in a one-on-one environment.

Communicate to relationship officers and clients information regarding the bank’s various lending products and articulated lending guidelines.

Gather client’s financial information in collaboration with the relationship officer.

Maintain daily contact with CAPS personnel on the status of pending loan applications. Gather necessary credit information from both internal and external sources.

Responsible for collateral analysis using title reports, appraisals, valuation guides, valuation models and other documents which may be used to value or determine ownership of collateral.

Prepare loan write-up presentations to bank senior management that provide a thorough credit analysis of the applicant’s loan request.

Responsible for ensuring that closing deadlines established by the applicants and/or bank employees are met.

Ensure that loan packages are processed and completed in a timely fashion by coordinating the activities of various specialists, both outside and within the bank.

Act as the direct point of contact for private banking clients to have questions answered, and issues resolved in a timely fashion.

May work on other projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. One to three years of experience in the lending field or related area is preferred (specific experience in consumer loan or mortgage origination is a plus.) The ability to read and understand credit reports, title reports, appraisal, tax returns and a basic understanding of business financial statements is required. Given the blend of sales and underwriting responsibilities the incumbent should be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the banking industry. Polished written, phone and in-person communication skills. Word processing, spreadsheets, exposure to on-line banking systems, and knowledge of Laser Pro, and/or Decision Pro are a plus. The incumbent will be required to occasionally travel to various client and branch locations within our service area. Varies, typically Mon-Fri 7:30am - 5pm.
