Defined Contribution Administrator - Arlington Heights

Job Description:HPL&S, Inc. (a Northwest suburban pension and employee benefits consulting firm) is a subsidiary of First American Bank that concentrates on retirement plans for business entities. We are seeking a motivated,reliable and well-organized individual to fill the position of a Defined Contribution Administrator. We are looking for someone with 0-5 year of experience. We provide extensive training for this position. You will be responsible for the consulting and administration of defined contribution plans including Profit Sharing, 401(k), ESOP, Money Purchase, Target Benefit, Cafeteria and Welfare benefit plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review plan documents
Compilation and review of trust financial statements
Mutual fund account reconciliations and transaction processing
Review and analyze employee census data received from clients
Determine employer contribution requirements
Prepare required compliance testing including ADP/ACP Tests, Top Heavy determinations, compliance with Section 415 and 404 limits and Cross Testing
Prepare and process benefit distribution packages for terminated and retired participants
Communicate with clients and their professional advisors
Complete required government reporting forms (Forms 5500, 5330, 1099-R and 945)
Maintain working knowledge of retirement plan legislation

QUALIFICATIONS:
Business experience with a Bachelors or Associates degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred. Candidate must possess strong analytical skills, strong written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is a must. Experience with Relius Administration a plus, but not required.

Additional hours required January through March and as needed for special projects.
