Network Engineer-Entry-level College Recruiting
The scope of a Network Engineer - The Network Engineer's role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. In addition, the Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
The individual will be responsible for:
  1. Responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of Local and Wide Area Networks (LANs and WANs).
  2. Develop and communicate engineering standards and procedures as it relates to networking infrastructure to ensure that all standards and procedures are in accordance with service level agreements.
  3. Participate in departmental reviews to ensure both the technical and operational feasibility of all network products and services and make recommendations based on his/her ability.
  4. Assist in the selection of vendors and suppliers for network hardware, software and services.
  5. Develop and present hardware configurations, cost, and pricing.
  6. Create and maintain support documentation and technical drawings of the enterprise network infrastructure.
  7. Research and recommend tools and technologies, and evaluate software requests from clients and business partners.

Qualification

The skills required are:
  1. Beginner - Network Routing Protocols
  2. Beginner - Problem Solving
  3. Beginner - Communication Skills
Leadership skills:
Apart from your technical skills you will improve and refine your leadership skills.
Computer Proficiency:
Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows/Intel systems.
Detailed understanding of each level of the ISO/OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
Experience with LAN & WAN protocols including Ethernet, Frame-Relay, and ATM.
Experience with IP Routing and routing protocols including OSPF, BGP.
Experience with Cisco Systems equipment.
Some experience with Network Management and tools including SNMP, Sniffer, network management tools and applications.
Education:
College or University Degree Preferred
Major preference:
Computer Technology, Computer Information Systems/Management or Computer Engineering
