Service Engineer Specialist - (Job Number: 000B5L)
The purpose of our NOC (Network Operations Center) department is to provide 24x7 operational support for the enterprise data network and windows infrastructure. The scope of this job is to provide Level 2 support for the enterprise data and windows services including initial response support for incoming calls, network administration functions, network monitoring, and ticket management. The shift we are hiring for is a THREE DAY SHIFT, working Friday - Sunday. The shifts are either 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. or 11:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The position will be responsible for:
- Enterprise level 2 support for LAN/WAN, firewall, Internet, load-balancing, F5/Foundry, Windows - Active Directory/DNS/DHCP
- Perform trending of incidents and implement solutions
- Perform network monitoring and management tasks
Qualification
- Basic troubleshooting and problem isolation
- Intermediate written and verbal communications
- Broad knowledge of networking/systems architecture
1 - 2 years experience supporting LAN/WAN technologies
Strong experience with Cisco Systems equipment. Some experience with Network Management software. Practical experience with LAN & WAN topologies including Ethernet, Frame-Relay, Leased Lines, ATM and MPLS. Practical experience with IP Routing and routing protocols including OSPF and BGP. Experience with IPSec VPN technologies. Detailed understanding of each level of the OSI/TCPIP model. Experience with protocol analysis and application troubleshooting. Experience with Foundry ServerIron or F5 BigIP / DNS server load balancing and Bluecoat Web Proxy a plus. Knowledge of Windows Active Directory/DNS/DHCP, UNIX, Linux, and Firewalls a plus.
