Clinical Research Coordinator/Allergy/Immunology
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), this position will serve as the research coordinator for studies conducted through AsthmaNet, a multi-center NIH funded consortium for asthma research. The coordinator will be responsible for the management/coordination/execution of studies. The coordinator will also work with sponsors and governmental agencies, and will adhere to Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols. In addition this position will work closely with research coordinators in the Chicagoland Metropolitan Asthma Consortium and the AsthmaNet Consortium to perform the functions listed below.
Essential Job Functions:
- Subject recruitment, questionnaire administration
- Collection of saliva samples. Perform spirometry
- Complete forms related to the study to record patient data. Upload the forms to the database and maintain it
- Shipping and maintaining patient research files.
- Prepare IRB and CRU submissions and annual reports. Coordinate all protocol-related correspondence to the IRB at Children's Memorial Hospital (i.e. submission of new protocols, amendments, annual progress reports, safety reports, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. SOCRA/ACRP Certification preferred, with 1-3 years experience in clinical research
- Experience in respiratory therapy or nursing highly desired
- Previous work with children, adolescents and parents preferred
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish preferred
- Proficiency in working with computers required; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required; proficient at writing and generating reports
- Ability to travel to different locations within Chicago and US to meet with investigators and participate in training
