IT Systems Engineer

The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of servers, sytems and application software, and other healthcare IT technology on the Childrens Memorial Hopsital network. It should be especially noted that the IT Systems Engineer role, while responsible for server and other IT technology, also focuses on the end user apects of this technology.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Implements and maintains server and client systems (computer hardware, operating systens and application software) as assigned or in association with application or technology systems projects.
  2. Responsible for the general Microsoft server administration including relative networking and application techincal support.
  3. Performs and manage project tasks related to server and client needs as assigned for IM or organizational project tasks. Maintains department standards for client and server systems.
  4. Provides consultative services to end users regarding technology or application services and/or client related issues Completes assigned Help Desk support tickets within IM Department standards
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field. Three years experience with the administration and implementation of Microsoft Windows Server 2003-08 technologies in a large enterprise environment of at least 200 servers.
  2. Experience supporting complex enterprise applications on a 6,000+ user network. Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Registry, Group Policy is required.
  3. Experience is also required in hands-on implementation of server hardware and technology.
  4. Experience in the technical implementation and support of line of business applications.
  5. Good skills and experience are also required with working on large project teams, service ticket management, and the documentation of technical processes.
  6. Past or current experience in a healthcare IT environment is a plus.
