Education Consultant Role
* Will consider candidates countrywide. The position will be located in any of the following offices: Northbrook, IL, Hudson, OH, Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX or Roanoke, VA.
Description
The Education Consultant will work as part of the Allstate Technology & Operations (ATO) Talent and Organizational Performance (TOP) department. As a member of the Learning and Development Area of Competency, the Education Consultant will provide human performance consulting and will design, develop and maintain education materials and programs to support over 5,000 employees who provide technology and operations services for the Allstate enterprise. Responsibilities of the Education Consultant include the following:
- Consulting with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to conduct performance analyses to compare actual/ideal performance levels, and identifying when education is/is not an appropriate intervention to address a performance gap. Help clients and stakeholders to question their assumptions, determine their needs, and plan implementation strategies for achieving their goals.
- Managing multiple and highly complex projects by assessing, planning, negotiating, organizing, monitoring and evaluating the implementation process through the development and execution of documented project plans. Lead task teams formed to address technology and process changes.
- Consulting on the best combination of instructional methods, which may include formal course development (instructor led, virtual instructor led, e-learning) to deliver the education.
- Manage all phases of instructional systems design including analyzing, designing, developing and evaluating education deliverables.
- Applying principles of adult learning to create engaging programs that help learners apply skills and behaviors on the job.
- Recording, editing and producing video and audio content for delivery via the web.
- Representing the organization at internal and external conferences and panel discussions on best practice areas of adult learning.

Qualification
Qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge of corporate training practices and current technology trends. Awareness of e-learning industry and understanding of the existing and emerging technologies.
- Must have a strong record of implementing creative, innovative and effective performance improvement solutions that have contributed measurably to organizational objectives.
- Technical Writing- Able to document detailed processes and procedures in a succinct and unambiguous way so that they are easy to understand.
- Relationships- Able to build and maintain effective relationships with project leaders and team members to coordinate the documentation and communication of new projects and processes.
- Experience in performance consulting with internal clients and key stakeholders to identify opportunities and strategies for improving performance.
- Instructional design using the ISD model (analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation) to create adult education classes that fulfill organization goals.
Experience Requirements:
3-5 years experience required in any of the following disciplines: instructional systems design, adult education, technical writing or related areas.
Insurance or financial services experience preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
Major preference: Instructional systems design, technical writing, adult learning, communications, liberal arts, or business.
