Storage Service Engineer - (Job Number: 000AGQ)

Primary purpose is to support infrastructure projects and availability through gathering of requirements, design, testing and implementation of storage capabilities.
  • Monitor and maintain hardware and software infrastructure components
  • Responds to infrastructure incidents, which could include on-call support, escalations, and coordinating resolution/remediation.
  • Drive root cause analysis on incidents
  • Contribute to detailed project estimates and work plan
  • Support process improvements
  • Support Corporate strategy
  • Build and sustain relationships/partnerships
  • Provides disaster recovery support
  • Mentor and coach peers/colleagues
  • Focus on client/customer

Qualification

  • Basic understanding of SAN and NAS storage technologies and protocols.
  • Familiar with storage concepts, such as fabric topologies, zoning, LUSE, CVS
  • Basic understanding of SAN Administration including zoning, LUN security, and HBA configuration
  • Basic understanding of UNIX - Solaris and/or basic understanding of MS Windows 2008
  • Basic understanding of Sun/Solaris (UNIX) and/or MS Windows Server 2003/2008
  • Effective personal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships
  • Organizational skills with attention to task details, documentation and target dates
  • Team orientated, willing and able to share knowledge and collaborate with others.
  • MS Office - Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio
Especially interested if familiar with:
  • 3Par System Reporter, External Storage Configuration, Logical Partitioning
  • Qlogic (Sun/UNIX) and/or Emulex (Windows) HBA Configuration
  • VERITAS Storage Foundation, VxVM, VxDMP, Sun Traffic Manager, ZFS, and/or other multipathing technologies
  • Virtualization technologies (VMWare)
  • SanScreen, SnapVault, SnapMirror, Protection Manager
