Position Description
The B2B Project Analyst is responsible for developing, mapping, implementing and supporting Ebusiness (B2B) systems-delivered services, for creating and developing improvements to existing services and new capabilities required to meet Grainger's Ebusiness business objectives and for coordination of departmental resources to address customer requirements in cross functional projects. This position will participate in ensuring that the Ebusiness deliverables meet all trading partners' (vendors, customers, suppliers) requirements by providng a way to communicate electronically and exchange documents with Grainger in a way that reduces cost to both Grainger and the external partner as well as supporting company efforts to install Grainger in the GVA process that allows Grainger the ability to improve productivity and profitability. The B2B Project Analyst designs and maps technology solutions that implement standards, performance, and security requirements to maximize reliability, functionality, and integrity while minimizing costs and cycle time.
Position Requirements
- Leads and manages discussions and implementations and projects with customers, suppliers, vendors, and internal business partners to determine business requirements for Ebusiness projects.
- Translates business requirements into technology/system service requirements.
- Coordinates the delivery of system services to meet requirements for cross functional customer, supplier, or vendor projects.
- Leads and participates in technology/systems integration and acceptance testing.
- Monitors system operations, troubleshoots and identifies problems and error situations, and takes appropriate steps to correct.
- Using the requirements is responsible for developing the map using Gentran Integration Suites to meet the customers/suppliers/vendors expectations.
- Tests the map internally and externally with customer/supplier/vendor to validate their requirements
-Provides management reporting on the status of projects.
Position Attributes
- Good working knowledge of technology and systems.
- Knowledge of data translation standards (cxml, Xcbl, ANSI x12, EDIFACT , Flat file positional formats, other), methodology of the data mapping process, and ability to use B2B translation software.
- Knowledge of eProcurement market leaders such as, Ariba, Perfect Commerce, SAP, and B2B integrators such as WebMethods and/or Gentran Integration Suites.
- eCommerce experience a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to various levels of management, both internal and external.
- Ability to adapt to changing business processes, technologies, services, and environments.
- Attentive to detail & Excellent organizational skills
- Strong project management skills, analytical and problem solving skills and interpersonal skills.
