POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Investment Compliance Team, this individual would perform or assist in the following tasks and responsibilities:
  • Monitor compliance with Investment Polices and Investment Guidelines.
  • Work with Asset Class and Risk Management personnel in resolving Investment Policy and Investment Guidelines exceptions
  • Develop forensic monitoring reports for significant Investment Department Processes with a focus on Investment limit monitoring;
  • Perform risk assessments and control design analysis on key Investment Department processes with a focus on Investment limit monitoring;
  • Perform Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) reviews
  • Perform SOX self assessments for the various key controls related to limit monitoring
  • Assist Compliance team members and Risk Management staff in updating and testing the applicable limit monitoring systems for new Investment Policies and Investment Guidelines.
  • Lead weekly limit monitoring meetings with Investment Technology, Investment Law and Compliance Staff.

Qualification

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • 5-7 years investment and/or audit experience with a solid understanding of internal controls
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and proactive work habits
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Ability to work effectively and supportively within a team environment and the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in MS Word.
  • Any of the following skills/designations are a plus: CIA designation; working knowledge of the investment industry, including basic investment instruments and their properties; experience with GAAP and Statutory reporting; working knowledge or proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and/or Access.
