Product Operations Consultant - (Job Number: 000AOQ)
- Provide data analytics support for a variety of internal customers and external recipients to ensure informed decisions in insurance product intelligence. This includes providing informative reports, dashboards or scorecards and trend analysis.
- Present the story behind the analytics to a wide variety of audiences including the business client and differing levels of management. This includes text/data mining to develop a deeper understanding of our data and data sources. This position will include tools for data/text mining and formal presentation software, such as, Tableau.
- Serve as an Insurance business mentor to team members.
Qualification
Required Skills: (skills individual must bring to the job) and skill levels required:
- Beginner (has general understanding/knowledge)
- Intermediate (has good working knowledge/understanding)
- Advanced (is considered an expert)
The skills required are
1. Intermediate - Analyst/Programmer - Solid experience in data extraction, reporting and presentation tools - Base SAS and PL/SQL. Additional skills in Microsoft Analysis Services, Business Objects, Xcelsius, and Tableau will be considered a plus.
2. Intermediate - Strong interpersonal and client management skills
3. Advanced - Self motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
4. Intermediate - UNIX, mainframe skills desired but not required.
5. Beginner - Project Management Skills
6. Intermediate - Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels.
7. Beginner - Related insurance and/or pricing knowledge and experience in P&C industry not required but a plus
Education Preferred: Bachelors or Masters majoring in a technical/quantitative field such as Math, Statistics, Finance, or Computer Science
AOQ Product Operations Consultant
Product Intelligence is a part of the Quantitative Research and Analytics department at the Allstate Insurance Company. Product Intelligence supports a portfolio of services to our customers including decision intelligence, data request fulfillment, research and data stewardship. This is a unique opportunity to join a team that enhances the organization's ability to visualize, measure and analyze the business. Team members serve in a consultant role to teams across Product Operations providing best practices, data interpretation and training on tools/data/data sources.

As a Product Intelligence analyst, you will support the managers and executives that drive this company's strategy and profitability by providing informative reports, dashboards and scorecards and performing advanced analytics, such as data mining and trend analysis. Intermediate - Project Management Skills
Intermediate - Proven experience (2+ yrs) working on projects requiring data extraction, manipulation, reporting and presenting using tools such as Base SAS, Excel (including pivot tables) and Business Objects.
Intermediate - Problem Solving
Intermediate - Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels.
Intermediate - Collaboration - Great team player
Additional skills in Unix, Oracle, Microsoft Analysis Services, Access, Xcelsius, and Tableau will be considered a plus.
