Systems Analyst
Product Technology includes critical applications that support the agency and CIC sales force. Alliance is a web-based application that agents and CIC represenatatives use for sales and service processing. Alliance also provides services used by the Consumer Channel. Alliance application supports Auto, Property and Consumer Household product lines.
This SYSTEMS ANALYST - CONSULTANT position is an experienced, consultant-level role within Allstate Insurance. As a Systems Analyst - Consultant you will be responsible for applying business processes knowledge to create high-level technical requirements/designs and develop/support IT solutions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of Alliance application experience along with 1-2 years of personal lines insurance experience. The candidate needs extensive knowledge and of Java, J2EE, ClearCase, ClearQuest, RAD, XML, Visio and other object oriented techniques. This individual should be able to fulfill the following responsibilities -
- Analyzing business and functional requirements to create the high-level technical design for all but the most complex projects.
- Providing and supporting technical input into architectural assessments and assisting to ensure technology adherence to the architecture.
- Developing and/or confirming detailed estimates for moderately complex projects.
- Facilitating system design conflicts resolution with a project team and supporting the business by researching technical questions.
- Supporting module and integration test planning, execution and review for all but the most complex projects.
- Facilitating the change analysis process and providing change request guidance for multiple areas.
- Maintaining awareness of vendor software, tools and futures, and recommending their use.
- Drafting, gathering input from team members and/or editing operations, environment, and/or desktop documentation.
Additional qualifications required are -
- Application Systems Analysis - Some training or exposure to basic systems analysis including structured functional specifications, modularity and partitioning concepts.
- Application Systems Design - Ability to conduct systems design tasks and to build/enhance a simple system, independently or in a team environment.
- Business Systems Architecture - Knowledge of systems architecture and how application systems and programs are structured/interact.
- Business Knowledge - Fundamental knowledge of the insurance industry and competitors familiarity.
- Change Management - Fundamental proficiency to demonstrate change management processes in practical, moderately difficult situations.
- Technology Industry Knowledge - Demonstrates ability to stay abreast of new technology as it applies to work assignments.
This individual should also be able to multi-task and should be comfortable working in a very dynamic environment. The individual should exhibit inclusive behaviors and should possess leadership capabilities to assist in leading technical as well as organizational changes. The individual should be able to work well individually as well as in a team setting. He/she should possess good mentoring skills.
